Do you have a song you have listened to so many times, that’s so intimate, it feels strange, almost uncomfortable, to watch a video of it? I remember seeing Bob Dylan perform “Sweetheart Like You” in concert at the Irvine Amphitheatre almost 20 years ago (with the Pouges) and thinking, “How do all these people know the words?” As if it only existed for me to listen to in my room or on the tape deck in my VW Bug.

I don’t know what it is about it that moves me– it just does. Sometimes I almost feel embarassed by my love for music. Like I should have outgrown it by now. But then I think how truly happy it can make me and I know I’m fine.
