Daily Photo: Charity dinner at The Nixon Presidential Library

We attended a charity dinner at the Richard Nixon Library for our kids’ school last night and little bits of loveliness were found all over.

Leilani, the auction organizer, won my award (which pays out nothing but this picture on my blog) for most beautiful dress, which she accessorized perfectly and appropriately with a clipboard. The library and the surrounding grounds– Nixon’s birthplace, the helicopter where gave his famous “two victory signs” goodbye, and a garden–are just beautiful.

Only one of the four “Deadly Party Personalities” were represented, which is a very, very impressive ratio. I do have the addition of “Person with distracting manner or hair,” who didn’t make my original list, but probably should have.

All in all, a fun night.

The pictures are lovely. I love the deadly party personalities, so funny and so TRUE.
The scene from gone with the wind is priceless. That Scarlett was a bit dramatic too. 🙂

I really like your photos. I’ve been by several times, and haven’t commented, but I will now. I agree with you about this lady’s lovely dress! And your bw photo a few days ago was stunning. Also LOVE the cactus the other day….I have a weakness for cacti. I do well with plants that need little water or else a lot of water.

Your pictures are stunning, as usual. I’m so surprised that you weren’t 4 for 4 with the DPP’s, but it looks like you might have to ammend the list to include your new discovery!

I think- no, I KNOW- I’m in love with that dress. And this is coming from someone who doesn’t like wearing dresses. It’s gorgeous! From the back anyway…
And thanks for the tips on how to handle those deadly personalities! Hilarious 🙂

LOVE the dress! L-O-V-E it! Looks like a fun night. That library is more interesting than I thought it was going to be. You know… Nixon. Who knew?

Great pics. Thought you should have “won” the puppy though. Was my use of “quotes” o.k. there??????

“Person with the most distracting hair or manner?” No picture? Why?

Love the short, 50-year old, drunk guy who stood in front of Jo-eye and me at the bar at this event who looked up said, “wow, how tall are you. how is the air up there?” it was so funny, and original…in sixth grade.

I might be one of those DPP. Maybe. Leilani is such a pretty name and so is her dress.

    Beautiful dress, beautiful photo!
Hey, guess who is staying with us the next couple of nights – Annie! I see you provided her with a (much fancier) bed too. We’re so cool!

A clipboard is the perfect accessory for any ensemble. The only thing that can improve the look is the addition of a whistle!! (Yes, someone once gave me a sweatshirt that said “Does Anal Retentive Have a Hyphen?”) Bwahahaha!
