Spooktacular fun at Mickey’s Trick or Treat Party

Disney invited local mom bloggers out to Mickey’s Trick or Treat Party at California Adventure. My family and I are Disneyland annual pass holders and go to the parks about once a month, but haven’t ever gone to this special event. The kids got all dressed up–Troy Boulton & girlish pirate–and we made the fifteen minute trip to the park.

Despite Disney’s insistence on promoting candy corn–the foulest candy ever made–we all had a spooktacular time. A frightfully sinisterlacous experience. (One more…) It was scary fun. It’s sure to become a family tradition, like ice cream on Christmas morning.

Holding desperately to the belief that my videos are entertaining and unable to keep it under the optimal two and half minutes, I made this 3:30 minute video about the night. Yes, I talk about the confection crime that is candy corn, and yes, it includes ’80s music.

****PLEASE NOTE ALL COVERT OFFICE BLOG READERS**** The first 20 seconds of this video starts off loud (!) with raucous music. Take a minute and turn down your volume and take a quick peek over your shoulder to make sure coast is clear…

I’ll wait…

…Okay, now enjoy.

Can I just say that my favorite part of this video is the end when I show clips of adults dressed in costume. There is a man dressed like Winnie the Pooh (Who I love–BTW) and I call his name “Pooh!” “Pooh!” “Winnie the Pooh!” and he finally answers, “Yes, sorry, hi.” Maybe you had to be there–so funny. I’m pretty fond of that clown, too.

Wow–you weren’t kidding with the opening being raucous. I liked it. Probably the only video with a clown dancing to the Circle Jerks, maybe, maybe not.

Disney invited mom bloggers to this thing?? Man, I’d borrow someone’s child for that opportunity. Lucky you!
And I hate candy corn too, but I don’t even remember what it tastes like. I must have blocked it out as a child. I’ll have to watch the video when I get home tonight.
P.S. Winnie the Pooh has been my fave Disney character for aaages! I heart him to pieces 🙂

Finally, someone comes out publicly against candy corn. IT IS THE WORST “CANDY” EVER MADE.

I’m with you on the ICK to candy corn; it’s nasty stuff. Did you include the swings in the video just to torture me? I nearly had swings out of my mind and now the obsession has been ignited all over again! 🙂

Candy corn is like eating flavored wax. I’m still concerned about that Pooh you saw. He really scares me…
