(My daughter's roller skates.)

Don't miss the OC RollerGirls this Saturday night in Huntington Beach. No one does roller derby like those phenomenal brats skating for The OC Roller Girls.

You can get your tickets by clicking, here.  Haven't been to a roller derby bout before (awww, poor thing)? Watch my video from last year's "Suburban Assault":  A Taste Of Orange County Roller Derby.

✷✷✷✷✷✷✷

Listening to my Roller Derby Queens iMix  to get in the mood for derby–singling out Aretha Franklin's "Rock Steady."  Take a listen in funky preparation for Saturday night.

I totally LOVE that picture. It makes me so happy. Just the other day, no kidding, I was wondering, AM I TOO OLD TO GO VISIT (our local) ROLLERWORLD? I hadn’t thought of it in ages, but just thought it might be a lot of fun. I grew up on rollerskates and loved them (and then at some point it turned to rollerblades, which just aren’t the same!) You’ve inspired me to plan a group date. I will let you know how it goes. Happy Monday to you!!

I LOVE the way you prep for a night of Roller Derby!!! One of these days, I’ll be preping along with you. There will be wine, of course:)
It’s refreshing to see that your daughter wears REAL skates….not those rollerblades:)

Is it sad that I totally want those skates! Really, and the socks too! I would love to go to the park and skate in the entire outfit! You Rock!

Those skates are awesome. Would you believe that I have size 10 feet since high school and my parents had to search everywhere to find white skates with pink wheels for me. I hope I still have them somewhere.
I posted my wedding today. Married at the Fullerton Arboretum and then off to the Hyatt in Huntington… OC is the best 🙂

I like the retro k-nee socks. I haven’t seen those red bands for years. Cool photo too. We don’t have roller derby girls, we’ve got women’s football, The Power, and they’re scary but they win.

The idea of speed on wheels without a seat belt and a roll cage scares the HOO-RAH outta me. It’s best left to the professionals like you and your daughter. Or at least the crazies. 🙂
