We spent today in Dana Point. We desperatly wanted to avoid anything shopping related and I certainly didn’t want to post a picture of a mall and all that madness.
That’s my family up there on the jetty. My son, Ben, had a breakthrough today–he was so brave! He climbed on top of the jetty even though he was afraid. Larry kept telling him, “Ben, do it even though you ‘re scared. That’s what bravery is all about.” After he conquered half the jetty, he wanted to climb everything in sight.
Emily would have done more rambling, but her high(ish) heels prevented true real exploration. So instead we wandered barefooted through the tide pools. I will post more pictures tomorrow.
Still taking a break from any real writing on my blog–just enjoying the holiday. Hope you are as well.

Today I’m listening to: Aztec Camera “Walk out to winter.”
You can go to my BLIP.fm Channel to listen to all my songs.
I want to climb a jetty, and walk barefoot through tidal pools!!!!! You get to have all the fun ;D
Congratulations to your brave boy. I know you must have been bursting with pride!
Fantastic shot;) Have a great day.
That is one of the most beautiful pictures I have ever seen.
You should enlarge it and frame it in your house. Just lovely.
Sounds like a really nice day…I am with you…. avoid the shopping stuff!!!
Great pic!
One look at this gem of a photo and I have to wonder how anybody could stand to shop at all ever!
I adore this photo. It is the stories behind photographs that make them so special. You have captured a memory.
Really neat. And great song. 🙂
He got over his fear, that’s so cool!
Beautiful shot!
Happy Thanksgiving Suz!
Great shot! And way more memorable for everyone than shopping at the mall!
Awesome shot!
It looks like they have a rocky road ahead:)
I would listen to Larry because he truly knows what it means to be brave….beautiful words and pictures.
I love this photo. I think anyone who walks on the jetty is brave. I have a big fear of being washed away by a wave.
Another beautiful image, simple restrained and powerful! Hope you had a great time with your family! Cheers!
I know that jetty well, though only from the view from Proud Mary’s patio. Ah, how I miss Proud Mary’s, *sniff*.
People will come from miles around to steal this photo, Miss Suz. It’s fantastic.
