Bye-Bye OC Post

The OC Register announced today (here) it is, in essence, halting the publication of the OC Post as we know it. I had written about my very messy and public break-up with the newspaper, (here). The demise of the Post makes me a little sad, I really liked the idea of a leaner, more precise paper, but it just didn’t work out for the two of us (or the rest of Orange County).

The good news is The OC Register has ramped up its website. It seems to be focusing on the online community, adding citizen blogs (I have one myself) and an open forum for pictures and discussions. This is where I am getting all of my news now–the internet. I must meet the perfect media demographic for all of these changes (I can just see them talking about me, “You know, the stay-at- home Mom in Irvine, who doesn’t have time to… kids to soccer practice…college education…on-line to avoid responsibilities…), because they seem right and prudent to me.
