I’ve had no internet, no home phone, no camera (in the shop for cleaning) and no cable for the last week–it’s been brutal, rustic and charmless. I’ve been like the Laura Ingalls of Irvine, but with an iPhone.
My daughter loves the “Little House on the Prairie” books and when I read them I always think the same thing, “Stay in your cozy cabin in Wisconsin! Are you crazy? You know you have to BUILD the house when you finally get there, right?”
I’m happy to be back and to get working on some new ideas that sprang to me while wrapping, packing, unpacking and unwrapping.
I had planned on Photoshop-ing a picture of “Half-Pint” holding an iPhone, but I am just too exhausted.
Please just use your imagination and picture one here as a personal favor to me…

How funny!
Did you hear that they’re updating the Sweet Valley High books to make them more relevant to today’s children? Well, I for one would be highly upset if they tried to re-write the Little House on the Prairie books! For shame!
I’m glad that girls still enjoy reading those books though. I was a strange child of the 80s and I LOVED reading them!

Welcome back….part of my routine was missing when I couldn’t start my day with a smile brought on my reading your blog each morning….now speaking of Little House…believe me it is much more interesting to read about it than live it as I did in my early childhood….think warm bathroom vs outhouse…no electricty…oil lamps…thinking camping 24/7….I think I need a soak in a nice warm bubble bath…

The wilderness indeed! I’m glad you’re coming back. And I totally supplied the most hilarious photoshopped pic of Laura in my mind.
