Wuthering Heights

Last night I watched the 1992’s version of Wuthering Heights with Juliette Binoche and Ralph Fiennes. It just couldn’t touch the original film made in 1939 with Merle Oberon as Catherine, Laurence Olivier as Heathcliff and, David Niven as Edgar Linton. Whenever I get the notion to re-read the book, I always cast them in my mind. You can believe that Olivier’s Heathcliff is at once evil and tenderhearted. He is just perfect. If you haven’t ever seen it, please do.

Wuthering Heights with music by Kate Bush. I LOVE this song…

Next Sunday I will do a “Link Sunday” with Emily Bronte. She is my favorite author and poet. I always wanted to name my daughter “Bronte.” But Bronte Broughton is a little much and my Dad said everyone would call her Bronte-sourious. So we decided on Emily Anne, giving her two of the three Bronte sister’s names (Emily, Anne and Charlotte.)
